Itinerary of 9-Day Marrakech to Casablanca Tour

DAY1: ARRIVAL FROM MENARA AIRPORT MARRAKESH

Upon arrival at the Airport, you’ll be greeted by our friendly guide/driver who will assist with your luggage and transportation, to your hotel where we are going to spend our first night

 

Day2: Marrakech city tour

Exploring the sightseeing and historical sites, by walking with the local guide, enjoy discovering the art and cultural in the old city of Marrakech,

     The main highlight to see in Marrakech.  

  • Exploring the iconic Medina, a UNESCO world heritage sites, as we navigate through its narrow street, and bustling souks. you will experience the vibrant atmosphere filled with aromas of spices, and the vibrant colors of the local hand craft.
  • Visit the stunning Bahia Palace a mid, 19th-century palace adorned with intricate tilework and beautiful gardens, you will explore Moroccan architectural and artistic styles
  • Mellah: is the Jewish quarter of the city of Marrakesh it is the second oldest of its kind in the country, always situated next to the royal palace or the resident of the governor in order to protect them.
  • Kutubiyya Mosque: is the largest mosque in Marrakesh, it is located in the southwest of medina quarter near the Jemaa El-f naa.
  • Jamaa El-fnaa: is a square and market place in Marrakech medina quarter, it remains the main square of Marrakech, used by locals and tourists. During the day it predominantly occupied by orange juice stalls, water sellers with traditional leather water-bags and brass cups, youths chained Barbary apes and snake charmers.
  • The Medersa Ben Youssef (also known as the Ben Youssef Madrasa): is one of the most famous historical sites in Marrakech, Morocco. This Islamic school, or madrasa, was established in the 14th century during the reign of the Marinid dynasty and later expanded and renovated in the 16th century by the Saadian Sultan, Ahmad al-Mansur.
  • Saadian Tombs: are a historic royal necropolis in Marrakesh, the Saadian tombs are frequently regarded as the high benchmark of Moroccan art and architecture in the Saadian period and in the post-medieval period generally, thanks to its extremely rich decoration and its “rational” arrangement of interior space.
  • Majorelle garden: is one-hectare botanical garden and artist landscape garden in Marrakesh, it was created by the French orientalist artist Jacques Majorelle over almost forty years.

DAY 3: MARRAKECH - AIT BEN HADDOU - DADES VALLEY.

Our tour starts from Marrakech by picking up you from your Hotel/Riad in the morning. driving through the high Atlas Mountains taking into consideration the many stops for the panoramic view, and for café, to break up the long drive. Thereafter we will get to Aite Ben Haddou kasbah, where many national, and international films are Shot. the site of the kaser has been fortified since 11TH century, which is considered a great example of a Moroccan earthen clay architecture has been a UNESCO world heritage site since 1987.

 Continuing by Ouarzazate (the Hollywood city of Africa) where many films are produced, where we will make a visit to the atlas studio. On our way to boumalne Dades valley, the valley of thousand Kasbahs, we will pass by Skoura city, and kalaate Magonah (the pink city of Morocco) that is known by the stunning views, and pink flowers. Arriving to boumalne Dades where we will stay for one night.

DAY 4: DADES VALLEY - TINGHIR . TODGHA GORGE - MERZOUGA (Camel ride)

After having your breakfast, we will start driving straight to Sahara Desert. before we get there, on our road we will stop by Todra Gorge: The most spectacular place to explore, and to see. known by its series of limestones river canyon, and visited yearly by worldwide rock climbers for hiking. In addition to that, the place is known by the Nomads family those who still live in the caves. Moving forward passing by different towns like: Tinjdad, Mellaab; Touroug, Jorf, and Erfoud which is the last city you will be in before you get to the Sahara Desert, it is an oasis town in desert, located in the southeast part of Morocco, the city is considered as the capital of date fruit, it holds yearly a festival of dates, also knowns by its different minerals, and fossils. After Erfoud city, we will drive straight to Sahara Desert Merzouga.

Merzouga is known as the opening gate to Sahara Desert Erg Chebbi, where the largest dunes exist, once you arrive there you will ride camels crossing the dunes towards the camp, where you will take many pictures of the stunning views of the Sahara, and of the charming sunset. As we get to the luxury camp you will be generously welcomed by a cup of tea before you get to your private tent with shower, please do not hesitate to ask for your needs. After you eat dinner served in the Moroccan traditional way, you will join the fire party to experience the Berber night with drums and dance in Berbers way.

Sleep time is up to you. you may be lucky to watch shining stars, and enjoy the serenity of night in the middle of desert, please be respectful for those who are already asleep.

DAY 5: SAHARA DESERT - ERFOUD - ERRACHIDIA - MIDELT - IFRANE - FES

In the early morning you will be waken up to watch the sunrise, and feel the gentle touch of the sun. after you finish you will have your breakfast and go back by camel or by car to meet your driver/guide where they dropped you in the third day, then we will drive back to Erfoud where we will change the destination to the north east. The first stop will be at Ziz Valley for panoramic view pictures, after that we will drive further crossing the high Atlas Mountains, passing by Midelt, Zaida, and cedar forest where we will stop for the apes and shoot some pictures, then we will stop at Irfan the Switzerland city of Morocco that is known by its alpine style and beautiful landscapes, we may as well take some photos with the lion stone. Arriving to Fes in the afternoon, our driver/guide will drop you in your riad.

Day 6: exploring Fes

After having your breakfast, you will meet your local guide, to start your day tour exploring the old iconic city of Fes with the main historical highlight of the city.

  • Dar El Makhzes: is one of the main palaces of the king of Morocco in the city of Fes, the palace was founded by the Marinid dynasty in 1276.
  • Mellah: is one of the main oldest Jewish quarters in Morocco, and historical one located next to the king palace ‘Dar El-Makhzen’
  • The al-Attarine madrassa: is a madrassa in Fes near al-Qarawiyyin Mosque it was built by the Marinid sultan Uthman second Abu Said in (1323 CE) and completed in (1325 CE), it is considered one of the highest achievements of Marinid architecture due to its rich and harmonious decoration and its efficient use of limited space.
  • Funduq al-Najjarin: is a historic Funduq in fez El-Bali the old medina quarter, the building was designed for use by the merchants’ traders, and visitors to the city of fez and provided a storage place along with the fountains. The building forms one of the most remarkable urban architectural complexes in historic fez, today it houses a museum.
  • Al-Qarawiyyin university: it’s a university located in fez, it was founded as a mosque by Fatima al-Fihri in 857-859 and subsequently become one of the leading spiritual and educational centers of the Islamic golden age.
  • Chouara tannery: is one of the most iconic sights in Morocco operating since immemorial time, and is a place where animals skin and hides are stripped of hair degreased, salted, and soaked in order to stop decomposition then they are made soft and dyed to create beautiful leather items.

Fes pottery & ceramic: the main interesting place where you going to see the handmade pottery & zellige.

Day 7: FES - MEKNES - VOLUBILIS - CHEFCHAOUEN

After having your breakfast, we will start our day driving to the blue pearl city, that located in the Rif Mountains of northwest Morocco. which is one of the main backdrops of numerous photoshoots and attracts tourists from around the world because of its brilliant shades of blue. Before we get to our destination, we will stop by Meknes and Volubilis cities for visit:

 Meknes which is one of the historical cities in Morocco. To have a sight of the main monument of Meknes: Bab Mansoor, mausoleum of Molay Ismail, Sahrij Swani.

And Volubilis:  it is an archaeological site in Morocco, and a roman city dating back to the 1st century AD, which was designated a UNESCO world heritage site in 1997.

Afterwards once you finished the visit, we will drive to Chefchaoune where we will stay one night.

Day 8: CHEFCHAOUEN, RABAT, CASABLANCA.

Today we will start our journey driving through the riff mountain enjoying the beautiful landscape of the area straight to rabat, the capital city of Morocco where we going to explore the historical sightseeing of rabat city:

  • Oudayas Kasbah: it is a fortified casbah in rabat located on the hill at the mouth of bou regrag, and adjacent to the medina quarter. it is listed along the other sites in rabat as a UNESCO world heritage site since 2012
  • Hassan tower: is the minaret of an incomplete mosque in rabat was commissioned by Abou Yusef Yaqoob al Mansour, the third caliph of Almohad near the end of the 12th century.

Afterwards we will drive straight to Casablanca, the economical capital city of Morocco, right after arriving we will visit the largest mosque in Africa and is the 14th largest in the world, its minaret is the world’s second tallest minaret at 210 meters. Walk by the seaside of the Cornish of Casablanca passing by ricks café for a picture before we get to our hotel.

DAY 9: CASABLANCA. AIRPORT

Take your time to savor your breakfast before we set off on our journey from your hotel to the airport. Enjoy a leisurely meal as you prepare for the drive, and then relax as we head to the airport. This transition will provide a smooth and comfortable start to your travel, allowing you to reflect on your stay and anticipate your next destination,
